dont know what it is but i got one

found this today and cannot figure it out. i was digging in a buried burn area, with broken glass mostly, seems like area is from the 40's. it is about 6" high and 6" wide. the base is 2"x3"with 2 mounting holes on both sides.made of cast iron i think. anyone know ?thanks
