hi,
i found this spike today in the woods metal detecting. i was actually looking for arrows my son lost, i got a beep on the metal detector and found this spike about 6" down in the ground but it was upside down with the point sticking strait up. it must have been dropped. it looks like a railroad spike without the lip on top , and a very sharp tip, there are no railways around here. i am located on the elk river in cecil county md, this was found about 100yd from were the brittish landed and marched into de. dont know if it could be related just thought it was odd to find something like this in the woods. any input or info would be appreciated.
