Don't know enough about buttons

Found this today in a spot that to date hasn't produced anything older than a few Mercs and some early Wheaties.
Small 2 piece button (15mm) with a naval motif.
Can anyone tell me if it's military or civilian and is it older or contemporary.

Civilian.

The steel back indicates it’s modern. Blazer button maybe. It could be as old as the Mercs and wheats.

Even though it's a 'civilian related' button, the detail and the condition of the button face will clean up and display beautifully.
