Excellent Jeff, congrats on a great variety of quality finds. Wheaties, a Merc, a crotal bell, sterling ring, and , of course, clad - makes for a fun day! HH!

Really nice Jeff...that bell is great ....those old carnival grounds can really produce....I am scouting some out here in my town.....WTG

Great finds Jeff.

I've never found a CROTAL BELL and know nothing about them.

Know any good web sites where one can read up on these things? I really like bells.

Good stuff Jeff :-)

Hey Jeff, congrats on the crotal bell. Don't ya just love being the first to hear them ring in a couple of hundred year. Lance

Hey,

Its good to see admins post! Great finds, WTG on your first bell. I have no idea about the button or bullets but someone must! I am a coin lover so I would love to see a close up of the 1943 Merc.

PS: Help him out on this one guys!

Keep @ it and HH!!

Here ya go Mud.

Now you'll see my "Oooops" on the Back ;D

congrats on the finds, the bullet looks like it could be a .38/.357 wadcutter, but not sure...thanks for sharing and HH

My thoughts exactly, only I'd say semi-wadcutter, used for genral shooting/target practice. Probably modern.

Awesome finds Jeff! I think that is a sliegh bell or a jingle bell, very nice find, is the clacker still intact? Does it ring? As far as I know, a crotal bell was worn by an animal, much larger than yours, LOL. Your bell probably dates to the mid to late 1800s and should have a date somewhere around the top but, not all of the jingle bells have a date stamped on them. Any dates or hallmarks on it? Congrats on a good day out and HH, Mike

Yes it Rings real nice. It's actually one of the Nicest Sounding
Bells I ever Found.

I'll have to do Electrolysis on it, to get the Rest of the crust
off the Outside, so far I don't see a date.
I thought Crotal Bell was just a Generic name for all
Round bells, "Sleigh, cow, jingle"
Thanks for the Clarification, and I'll update IF I find a date.

Nice, Jeff. I love to find those bells. :)

I called them crotal bells too. I have found four whole ones and lots of pieces this year...including a piece to a huge one.

Jeff,

Awesome finds. Congrats!

HH ;)
