This could be the guy on the Military Dog Tag....cause the census record states William, age 3, was born in Michigan. His mother and father were born in Yugoslavia. Catherine and Louis were born in PA. Joseph, Mary, John, Frank, Helen and Charles were all born in Ohio and last child, Gertrude, was born in PA. So, this is the man on your dog tag! His father was a Car Repairman for the Railroad in 1930.

Thanks Ron or Ann, very good info. I think it is one of first two because it was found by a friend of mine in PA .he was cutting up an old box train car that was used for storage near a house that the old ladie who owned it had died. He found a small container with several interesting items, one of witch is pan am pilots wings, so maybe a connection to man in air corp. I will post more of these items as I get them cleaned a little.

Thanks again ,I will mark solved.

They wore two tags. One would be placed in the mouth of the deceased. The notch would be placed in the teeth, and the lower jaw kicked shut. The second tag would be taken back to the rear, and the administrative duties done (notification, recording etc.).
