My wife tried swinging a defector on the beach with me for all of 10 mins and said "this is stupid, I don't want to do this anymore". She will go with me to old ghost townsy type sites or old churches just to learn the history of the area and lay out and read a book or whatever, but has no desire to swing a detector. It works fine for me!

Mine usually lays out when she goes with me. But I'm gonna try to get her to swing a coil when I drive to the Treasure Coast this weekend after the storm.

My wife loves my hobby but prefers to have first pick of my finds rather than detecting.

Can't pry my s/o off his Ham radio - so it works out

I have two At pros... one was hers..

I believe you can't advertise stuff for sale unless your a charter member. As for the wife detecting, once she finds a ring it's all over holding her back.

Oh, sorry about that. Thread adjusted.

she may hang out and ready under a tree if she comes with. nothing wrong with having our own hobbies, hers is reading about things like the plague or hitler. i like DIGGING history, she likes reading about it. makes for a good match up! :laughing7:

Well my wife enjoyed it at first then decided it was too boring. She likes that I have hobbies and choose this one to really get into seriously.

you have to start worrying when they say, "why dont you schedule a LONG digging trip, why? because I love you." trust me, this is not my 1st rodeo. lol

Exactly;) been there done that

I detect almost only on our land in the woods, so when I detect, my wife is hunting for wild mushrooms or artifacts or stones in the river. Her finds often beats mine. She came along with me two times park hunting last year in october, I found 2 silver rings and a silver bracelet. Shes does'nt want to join in the park hunts this year, I hope I'll find something, she was my lucky charm. ;(

Mine is a book nerd and I like to go out and get dirty... I am planning on having her do the research and decide where I/We go... get them to have some buy-in on the hobby, but ultimately I know she will just end up playing with the dogs or reading a book on a picnic blanket somewhere.

My wife likes photography so she wanders around taking pictures,We tend to go to the mountains or lakes for those hunts but she likes the squirrels and such in the parks also so she goes with me on a lot but not all excursions with my detector.

Heck yah, mine will go. Her first time out with the Tesoro she found a Civil War pick. She has a love of the beach too. I have not made her go to the Ala swamps yet, but maybe this winter. ☺

My wife won't even think about going out MDing with me. "It's a stupid hobby" in her words. Then I came home with gold, silver, and platinum. It's not so stupid anymore, but she still has no interest. hell, she won't even touch any rings I bring home. Someone lost that... must be bad luck. Oh well, more cash in my pocket!

Mine has no interest in the hobby, I offer to take her all the time, heck she could choose between the F75 or the XP Deus, but "no thanks" is always the answer. She knows that she gets 1st dibbs on any bling I dig. She's just glad I found a hobby that I really enjoy that gets me out of the house and out of her way.
