I agree that it looks too shiny for gold but..... have you checked really well on the clasp and loop?

Maybe or maybe not gold, take it to a reputable jeweler and have them look at it and test it if they think it maybe gold.

It is a plated base metal. Probably brass.

I bought and sold jewelry for over 20 years in my own store. It looks great but is not Gold. The glued in stones are the dead giveaway. And yes some items are Gold and are not marked. Some are marked Gold and are not real. Go figure.

Probably brass, bronze, copper, etc., plated in 24K gold to make it look like pure gold. It will have a stamp saying Karats and usually company

A lot of clasps are marked ""gold but that doesn't mean the jewelry is. Italy makes marked clasps sold as is.
