First off, hello to everyone on "Tnet". I finally joined after reading countless useful posts. I am a gold prospector and picker out of Las Vegas.

This is my very first shopgoodwill.com buy..a small, heavy...something?! The main piece appears to be brass and it weighs approximately 11 ounces. It is approximately 4" x 3 1/4" x 1/2". Two of the bottom feet appear to be made of copper while the other two seem to be made of brass as an interesting side note.

So is it a paperweight?
Was it made in 1926 (the 1776 and 1926 dates next to the liberty bell remind me of a US bicentennial quarter)?

Thank you for looking. Please see the attached pictures below.

Paperweight is what I'd call it. I sold one almost like it on ebay some time ago, but is was for Farmer's Insurance if I recall. The one I had had the same hemispherical ball feet also, plus It also had a makers mark that I think was from some foundry company and do remember that maker made many commemorative medallions in great detail also. I would say it sure looks like a thing from 1926. Do you see any small maker marks on the bottom?

I just looked on ebay to jog my memory and the maker of the brass paperweight I had was made by Whitehead Hoag Co. Look over the edge of yours and see if you find that name on the one you have. If I remember I think I got close to 40 bucks for the on I had. The are very nice brass or bronze? castings.
