My pro pointer is acting up and I am not sure if it is still under warranty. Do they have a way to check online?..like just enter the serial number?.

If it is out of warranty, I may just go with a different model or brand pin pointer.

thanks

Call Garrett 1 800 527 4011 and give them the serial number. They can tell from their data base if it is out of warranty.

Mine was acting up last week , called Garrett they told me it was out of warranty when I gave them the serial #. I don't think there's a way to check online . They told me it would be $50 to replace the coil in the pointer. I'm NOT speaking bad about garrett , but I'm thrifty.
Mine was falsing at everything even in mid air. I watched some YouTube videos and decided to try and fix it myself. I covered the wires that connect the coil to the board and separated them with some plastic. No more falsing. Seems to b working.
If I do invest in another pointer I'm gona try the Deteknix xpointer.
Good luck and HH

Before you switch to Deteknix, see this video.......

Thanks alot guys. I called and it is still under warranty and I will be sending it in. Great customer service.

Problem is occasional falseng.

I offered to add $ and get the new AT pin pointer but she said cant do....too bad.

I am thinking about maybe adding a Whites TRX to the fold to go with the Garrett.

interesting! ive watched quite a few videos on the xpointer and have not heard of it causing interference with the detectors.
thanks for the info John

I quit laying my coil down beside the hole immediately after I first got a pinpointer, after and I quit waving dirt. Now...the control box will possibly be a couple feet and parrallel by habit. I don't have these interference issues with any of the Whites machines I swing. I have heard chatter at times, but swinging the search coil a bit to the side always fixes it. I just don't see the real problem.

The X-Pointer does like batteries, but so does my V3i. The V is much worse.
