Does everyone have this?...calculator

I do and it is a great calculator, thanks for posting it for those who do not. :icon_thumright:

got em both now!!!! thanks! :icon_thumright:

so I am new. I looked at both calculators and see you enter the information. When you find gold and enter the information, it looks like you have an idea on the value of the piece. Where do sell the gold after that and how close to your value number do you sell it for. How do you find a good honest person to sell to. Sorry, I know a lot of questions. I saved both calculator sites for future use.... THANKS for the help.

On the first Dentricks one. What does the markup/discount rate mean. How do you plug in the percentage of the commision the refinery makes. I could do it manually. Thanks.

Sanddrifter these sites only give you an idea of the value of the pieces counting the weight of any stones. These stones of course have weight and almost no value. For those that have taken a nice ring in to a jewelry shop to sell would know that that dude behind the counter won't give you squat for it. You are better off removing the stones yourself for setting into another ring or to give as gifts to woman relatives. Don't do this for girl friends as they want the whole ring. If you have a ring your going to give to one, buy a ring box from Jared Jewerlers and set it in that. Make sure there are no names inside the ring. :laughing7:

I sell all my scrape gold to Midwest Refineries http://www.midwestrefineries.com/ Midwest melts all the pieces of gold you send them together, 10 Kt. 14 Kt. 18 Kt and then tests the purity of the gold from there and weighs it. You are then paid 95% of what ever spot price is that day. It could go up or down from the time you send it in.

Here is what I just sold to them, 2.8 Troy Oz. $3,250.00

WOW you have done great! Thank you so much for sharing. I have bookmarked the site for future use. I hope to buy the Excalibur 1000 - in the near future and then maybe I can share some fines. I really enjoy metal detecting, but I am still waiting for my first gold piece.... I know it will be so exciting!!!

Thanks again and have a great day!

A lot of nice gold there Sandman, all of that come out of the lakes?

Yes Treasure Hunter all from fresh water lakes since I can't visit the coast again. I hardly felt like getting out this last summer, but managed to get lucky a couple times. One major advantage to hunting swim areas on lakes is people are concentrated in a small area and you don't have miles of sand.
