without "confirmation" marks then they are natural..the only signs that would be of value in north africa is Spanish signs, and I dont see anything of that nature..the 3 long 'dashs" seem to be syptomatic of the grain of the rock..if you look about the 3 dashes, you see a long trench..parralelling your marks...and below a wider mark , but again showing the natural clevage so to speak of your marks. If they are located in a area of gold mines. look for boulder that are stacked..hoyos ect, good luck, keep looking

ps..if you still convinced they mean something..then the only wild ass guess [wag] I can come up with is three dashes in morse code is an "S" so take a compass heading and head due south...there are lots of gold mines in South Africa~!
