Hello Fellow Treasure Hunters

I found these two items:

one is an iron pointed rod almost like a big double pointed nail and the other one is a metal piece imbedded in rocks held together by mortar, it looks like some type of tool or maybe a flagpole stand ?

I found them at the bottom of where a 17th to 18th century English fort was located. They were actually on the rocky beach below the Fort's apparent location.

Any ideas would be welcome

many thanks

Bruno

I'll guess the double pointed iron object was an awl - I'm assuming the amorphous blob attached to it , was not original to it .

Unusual finds :dontknow: I went to ST Kitts once and visited the English Fort, I bet there is a lot more around there to find

The iron object is most likely just a rusted spike or iron rod, as it rusted away it formed sharp ends on it. The large piece, if made from lead is most likely a fishing net weight.

Could it be what's left of ..... :

The odd piece looks like a piece of well tumbled concrete that had a concrete anchor bolt in it at some point.

I wish to thank you all, Zodiacdiverdave, Creskol, Silver Searcher and Argentium, for taking the time to provide me with your feedback - it has been very helpful

It looks like an old type instrument (compass/protractor) for measuring distances on maps, especially nautical maps. Navigators use it.

Zodiacdiver , you are spot on - but now I'm completely confused , somebody's got some splainin to do here .

I have found similar items at the beach. The second item is likely an old piece of rebar stuck in concrete. The rebar has rusted away and the concrete has become smooth due to years of being washed around in the surf. I have found several pieces in various stages of being worked by the surf.

lol nice photoshop work, had me confused for a minute too.
