HA HA good one Roadrunner I actually laughed out loud. :)

Is it hollow ? Maybe a "bombilla" it's a straw thing with a strainer on the end for drinking mate.r2421.1L.jpg

No it is not hollow. It is solid and weights about a pound or so. I have no ideal what it was used for. No numbers or anything on it. Thanks for the help.

Looks like a d'Absinthe spoon, I once saw. Very ornate, and was used to hold the cube of sugar over the glass, as you trickled the liquor over it.
HOWEVER, I'm not an expert, in these matters......

I don't think it was used for anything, some type of display or collectible piece. Seems old though... :icon_scratch:

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

I'm with MUD. Looks like a tourist / collectable piece to me.

Looks like an Opium spoon.
that dude in the motif looks like he's smoking something...

Also, one of the the pics of the underside shows a darken circular pattern in the center of the spoon - evidence of cooking the contents perhaps.
lastly, there are feet on the underside of the spoon so it doesnt roll over and spill the contents.

where did you find it?

You said it, bingo. American - Chinese product late 19 century or early 20 century. Odd yet neat.

Flea Market It doesn't seem to have any burn marks on it.
