I am curious to know and thought people in this forum could help is the K.G.C. ever issued interest bearing bonds during the civil war to fund their endeveavors and that these notes if not destroyed could potentially be floating around.

I know the secret members were made to pay dues but in addition to that did they issue any physical notes?

:dontknow:

The answer is yes. Secret Bonds were issued secretly so that members could not redeem them
in public. They would have had to arrange a secret redeeming ritual at a secret location with at
least two Grand Wizards in attendance.

Do you have a resource where I could read more about that? Also - have any ever surfaced in the marketplace or collections?

In 1913 a farmer walked into the Farmers Union Bank in Knoxville with a wrinkled piece of parchment
asking to redeem it for cash. Bankers huddled in consternation. The farmer was escorted to the vault
room. The farmer was never seen again.

Did you know TNet has a KGC forum? There you will find others of your peculiar persuasion.
