most likely WW2 era, it would have had a squared ribbon and suspension device. the back was meant to be engraved with name and date. the newer ones have the angled ribbon and suspension loop molded into the top. yours would have looked like this pic

A few hours in peroxide and a lot of scrubbing with a sponge and tooth paste looks a bit better but I'll work on it more tomorrow it will get there

Yes i know you shouldn't clean things but its not worth anything I just think its neat and want it neat and shiny just something neat for my room and plus I have the upmost respect for any branch of military and anyone in our military if it was of had a date and name on it i would of tried returning it but not the case for this particular medal i will most likely restore it get the ribbon and all
