Does anyone have the 4" Gold Nugget coil? Your experiences?
I live on Cape Cod Bay and it has a long history, especially with the fishing and former whaling industries. This town use to have 42 piers & wharves back in the day. Today we're down to 3 wharves and the rest are ruins. There's a lot of junk metal in the sand and although I'm a newbie & learning how to discriminate out the iron & steel with my Tracker IV, some of the larger pieces still set the detector off. Another thing - because we're seaside, a lot of tiny copper or bronze sheet metal bits from houses & old boats are coming up from the sand now. I guess there's no way around that. I haven't to date found any gold or silver or even wheaties, but only modern clad (1960 and up), brass, bronze, & copper. Most clad I find within 4 inches deep. Today I dug a little bronze plaque around a foot deep. So I know the machine works, I just want to know how much difference I can expect from a 4" coil, especially where gold & silver are concerned. I'd love to hear your experiences.
Thanks!
