Looks like a heavy duty trivet.I would appreciate any information I could find out on what this is
Also possibly a heat diffuser for a wood cook stove. It would hold a pan off of the direct heat, for simmering. These are wild guesses. Best wishes for finding the right answer.Looks like a heavy duty trivet.
It looked like cast iron to me LOL. If it’s wood, I’d cancel the cook stove diffuser idea. That would be a baaad item to set on a hot stove.Teakwood, i think
LOL. I thought it looked like iron too. Glad for the clarification. It looked like cast iron to me LOL. If it’s wood, I’d cancel the cook stove diffuser idea. That would be a baaad item to set on a hot stove.
That's what my phone been saying when i used google picture search. There is clearly an attempt to make a snake head that doesnt make it infinite as other celtic knots i see. The fact that the head of the serpent doesn't go back into the infinite pattern is not helping things. LOL thanks for your feedbackLooks like a celtic knot.
That’s an excellent point. You’d think the bottom would not need to be a show surface.Do ya know any of its history? it's interesting, and I see the knot as infinite with the head as a sort of appendage off the body. Does that make sense? I don't think it's a simple trivet being carved on all sides.
