Does any one block unverified buyers on ebay?

Since it usually takes weeks to get your payment from them does anyone block them? i noticed some stores and sellers do. So is it worth it or not?

I have sold to some newbie Ebayers and have never had a problem and have never had to block anybody, but I have sold much in the last 2 years.

I am a new seller so I do sell to them but yesterday I got this message after someone with no feedback bought a clothing item from me.
" Hello, this is my first time ever using bay's bidding system and I was unaware of the rules on if you can't afford the item and have to cancel it. I have now read and am told it is up to you to cancel this or not. I am begging you to please cancel this and I promise that I will never play around or waste your time again. Please consider this, I am a poor college student."
Since when do you have to actually pay for eBay items that's ridiculous!

So let me see if I have this straight....if I wanna play around on eBay, I'm actually expected to pay for something if
no one out there plays along and outbids me? As a starving college student, I play by my own set of rules, like not studying and goofing around on eBay when I have no money. Read the rules? Huh? Is that like a book or something? Next you'll be telling me there are other forums here to read. Get real.

lol thats funny, but i kinda did the same thing the other day. I was bidding on a item that was a misspell so i was getting it dirt cheap. Well something happened with a withdraw in my checking account i didnt know was coming out. It was suppose to be a canceled trial from 2 weeks ago. Anyways i messaged the person and told them the auction title was misspelled and if they want to cancel i would just rebid it. I figured it was better to do that then risk someone not bidding on the item and I have to tell them they would have to wait till my next pay,2 weeks, to get the payment. It was posted for here young daughter so she could have some money for christmas so i didnt want to hurt the little girls feelings. I have no problem paying for something i bought just didnt want to make that little girl wait.

With the unverified buyers i was just wondering if anyone blocked or passed them, ive had 2 buy from me and i have to wait 2 to 4 weeks for my money since im still on the 21 day wait. But i getthe payment from verified buyers 2 days after the confirmed delivery.

I don't block anyone until they give me a reason to.

I block individual members who have jerked me around but I also do not allow bids from buyers who have some number (I forget how many) unpaid items on their record.

Block buyers who:

Don't have a PayPal account
Have received 2 unpaid item strike(s) within 12 month(s)
Have a primary shipping address in countries that I don't ship to
Have a feedback score equal to or lower than -1
