french documents dated 1 may 1906 --they have "offical" stamps upon then --see the 50 cent "timbre imperial" its means "stamp imperial"--- and 1 franc and 20 cent --theses are document tax stamps --kind of like a govt "notery"stamp --that produces income for the govt -- I see the word property and Mr de Beaumont(notaire)--notary in english *) --- most likely a deed or will of some form---- the rest is too small and blurry for me to read ---ivan

I think one is probably a marriage licence. I thought I saw a derivation of Marriage in one of the first documents. May be wrong.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your great grandmother! Those documents are very cool. Wish I could read french! I would definitely go find someone that could so you will know what it is that you have and can keep some info along with the documents explaining it for future generations as well. Let us know what you find out!

If you have a good antiquities or rare book dealer/shop in your city, take them in and have them looked at. They are a nice keepsake of your fmilies istory. My condolances for the loss of your great grandmother.

I would go to a local high school or college/university and have a French teacher translate it for you. They will be able to explain things as well.
