I found this in a creek in California....i picked it up because it looked like a turtle however when i started cleaning it the other side appeared to be a small animal attached to the rock...any help would be greatly appreciated..measurements are 2 inches wide and 1 1/2 tall...

I think it's a small petrified dinosaur eaten by a small petrified turtle!

Or it's just a rock.
