Hello Jorgeke
What type of advice are you seeking?
Any type of advice about metal detecting is welcomed.

are you use the center of the coil of the edge of the coil for pointing the target ?

I use the old age X pattern.... never failed me.
Actually... X and + pattern combined pinpoints exact spot for me.

You need to do better research to improve what you find ..there really isn't much difference with most machine's just the hype so you buy a new one..

There are slight differences with each type of coil/manufacture.
Minelab (Explores) it was right under the tabs of the coil was the spot.
I've used the X method, but generally a couple of swings back and forth over the target will get me to the sweat spot.
One can use the heal of the coil also to pin point, or the pin pointing feature that is built into the detector.

when you get an iffy signal remove a few inches of dirt. the signal will then sound better or sound worse, and then you'll know to continue or not.

look for and work the iron patch. large areas of iron will hold the relics.

True and false
For example between Deus 1 and the Deus ll there was a big difference in the detectors.
Recoveries in the hard detected iron patches was notable using the D2 over the Dl.
The D2 sniffed out keepers the ETrac/CTX/Dl missed.

Thanks, that is a good one

I heard that DII goes no deep, in comparison to others, let say Nox800.

What do you think? Is that true ?

I don't own any of the Nox 600-900 detectors so I can't comment on if the depth of detection is better or worse.
Your sites are totally different than mine-2 weeks ago mine were frozen for 4" under the dead grass.
Last week it was butter soft in the corn patch, very wet.
You have dry arid conditions mainly so that will effect the depth.

For depth on the Deus 2
I can say 11" for a musket ball, LC, no problem.
Military button 10" no problem these are readable consistent # readouts on the screen-not jumpy numbers.

For heavy iron patches I haven't owned a machine yet that will out perform the Deus ll for separation capabilities

I currently use both the EQ 900 & the Nokta Marko Legend. Both are really good, there is more to work with on the Legend, and I like having the extra battery pack, of which where you fella's hunt could come in handy. All things considered, looking at your post, I tell ya Jorgeke, you have been finding some great stuff, what ever you are doing, you are doing it really well. I look forward to your post on T-Net.

I tell newbies whatever brand you buy, get the entry level model. You get the high dollar, all the technical bells and whistles one, chances are you will get confused and say hell with this hobby. In my case, I do a lot of detecting for research, so I dig every signal. Since you're already in the field, one tip I would give you is always remove any trash you dig up on a site.

That is a good advice, clean our spots is always good

Thanks
