I already had them auto payment my sellers fees last month and bounced my account. They fixed it but I don't want it to happen again. So can I remove my card from paypal and still receive the money from my buyers when they pay. Since it goes into paypal pending and doesn't leave till I transfer it does that card have to stay there. Im talking about having a zero balance in paypal and ebay sends my sellers fees invoice to my paypal account and paypal draws it out of my checking account. Sorry its kinda sloppy paragraph its been a long day. Have a great night.

You have to have your paypal account linked to a bank account if that's what you're asking. It's just another part of Ebay looking out for the buyers while not giving a crap about the sellers. If, for example, a buyer claims he didn't receive his stuff or it arrived damaged paypal needs a way to steal your money immediately even if you've already transferred it out of paypal. Then you can try to fight with them for a month or so to get it back... Welcome to the "new improved" Ebay.

This one is beyond me. I didn't know they "keep a card on file". I do agree with what NHBandit said though. As a seller, Paypal will always be linked to your bank account as far as I know. If i'm wrong someone please explain.

A few years back I got both my paypal account and checking account drained by someone who hacked into my paypal account. After my paypal account was empty they get going as my checking account backed up PayPal.

PayPal and my bank was great and within a few days I had my money back.

Upon reactivating my paypal account I explained to the customer service people that I was no longer comfortable linking my banking accounts to paypal.

They offered to open me a paypal credit account that counts as a backup.

I asked what's the lowest they offered and it was $500.

Been that way for a few years now and none of my banking accounts are linked.

Fiqured that there is always $500 in it to pay fees if need be and if I get hacked again the most they will get is paypals money...which will most likely get refunded.

Well looks like ill just go buy a pay pal card from the store then. Ill give them a call but when I asked this they weren't open and I want it off now. I'm going to pay my shipping on the pay it when funds are available option but I'm betting PayPal is going to take it on auto payment since it'll be a "withdraw" on the PayPal computers. Can't do the whole 3 bounce fees every day.
