Nice find there J.D. Thats a new one for me I also never seen one before....But then again ,I'm sure over the up and coming years will see plenty of ( what is it pieces ) .... I just curious on the size of the piece...Let us know !! Thanks for the post ..... Seeker

Dizzy Dean was a famous baseball player in the 1930-40s, he was entered into the Baseball hall of fame in 1953. Badge could be worth around $35.00. HH and nice find, Mike

thanks Guys.... Seeker its about the size of a quarter...info on it:

Dizzy Dean had a youth fan club, Dizzy Dean Winners, was sponsored by Post cereals in the 1930's and promoted in Sunday comic sections. The club offered pins, rings and other such premiums that are worth they're weight in diamonds today--baseball diamonds, that is.

? ? ?I love that kind of stuff!? My roots are in Pike Co. MO. My 95 year old Grandmother, still a rabid St. Louis Cardinal fan, loves to tell stories about her and her friends going to St. Louis to watch Dizzy and his brother play. She says one time she watched Dizzy pitch an entire double header.
? ? ?Great find j.d.

Great find JD..Even if it isn't worth all that much, still would be a nice addition to your collection.probably not many around these day's.You too NE....nice find's guy's..HH!!

Neat find JD!

;)

A keeper, J.D. I'm curious if you found it registering under iron? The clip looks to be non-ferrous in part. Great find and congrats.

I use to love old Diz and Pee Wee Reese doing the game of the week on TV every Saturday.? I remember he told a story once that has stuck with me.? Someone heard Dizzy Dean talking in his old homespun manner toward the end of the Depression and interrupted to correct his grammar.? They told him that it isn't proper to use the word ain't.? Diz responded that there are a lot of people that ain't saying ain't that ain't eatin'!? Monty

Nice Jd, I'm glad you found one. I found the same exact one a month ago. I love baseball and actually play semi pro ball for the Pittsburgh blacksox. I couldn't tell who was on the pin. I wasn't sure if it was broke either.

All I could read was winners. Mine look exactly like yours. Red thin and smooth. My pin on the back is missing and it looks like it was soldered with lead. Glad I was able to learn about it through your post. I love finds like these.

HH Jeremy

Dude, i'm thinking the Cardinals would like to have {purchase} that for the Cardinals museum. I would check into that. Great find. Tim
