Diving plane/sled

Its easy, get a piece of 1/2" or 3/4" marine plywood, cut some hand holes in it and attach a triangle shaped wire/stainless steel cable to it to hook to a tow rope, you can even rig it with a quick release knot so that when you see something on the bottom you can stop above it.You can even make the sled out of aluminum sheet metal, then you wont have to fiberglass it.It would be nice if it floats or is buoyant, that way when you stop, you dont have to struggle with it underwater,or attach a small ball float to it.

Better yet.build a sled out of star board. No paint,no glass and it wont break and will last forever.

disclaimer:Not responsible for divers being eaten by large fish being towed/trolled behind a boat on a dive plane or sled.

Heres some plans from NOAA

I guess it all depends on which type you mean. You have the cheap, simple type listed above or the longer finned type which lets you move up and down easily. Fly underwater so to speak.

Thanks, everybody.this looks good.Anybody ever thought of towing a small glass bottomed type canoe or dinghy?

best one I ever saw was an aluminum ladder with added aelerons through one of the ladder rungs. it worked great.
