The Discovery 3300 or Legacy 3500 or what ever other name its sold by, for sake of argument lets just call it a 3300. This is a completely different platform than the Fisher F-4. It shares some similar settings, and design principles and features, but it is a completely different detector. As far as how it stacks up to the other listed detectors, I would look at it like this. You have Ford Dodge and Chevy, who makes the best truck? Same with detectors, First Texas products (Bounty Hunter, Teknetics, Fisher) Garrett, White's and Minelab. I have owned all that you have mentioned so I'll give you my opinion. The 3300 is a good detector, its slower on recovery then the Fisher F-4, but faster on recovery then the Garrett 250. The depth at least here in my area, the 3300 ties with the Mine lab 305, with the F-4 being the deeper of the three. The Garrett Ace 250 and 350 lack manual ground balance and the Coinmaster Gt has a type of auto ground balance. the Fisher F-4 and Bounty Hunter 3300 both feature manual ground balance and a pre set mode. If you are going to cover cost per value I think you get more in the way of the Fisher F-4, but you can't beat what you get cost wise in the Bounty Hunter 3300, add a NEL Hunter DD coil to it and it will blow yer mind whit it can do for about the same price as the Garrett 350. On a separate note, I no longer have my Ace 250 or the Coinmaster GT and just recently sold my 305. I am a huge fan of First Texas products simply because of the customer service I have received from them on any and all the questions I have had. I can not say the same about Garrett or White's. I have never been able to contact anyone at Mine Lab. I will also add that I'm currently trying out a Fisher F-2 and a Discovery 2200 both with NEL coils.
