I believe Bounty Hunter is made by Fisher

Bounty Hunter (Discovery 3300) is a First Texas Company. The also make Fisher and Technetics detectors.

I think I already addressed this in another post but here is my take on the detectors that you list. I had a Technetics Eurotek Pro, and a Fisher F5 and they were both way to sensitive to EMI. I have also owned a Garrett Ace 250 and a Whites Prizm 6T (basically same as a CMGT). In my opinion and based upon my experience with those detectors my choice would be the Coinmaster GT hands down. It has many features that just can't be found on other detectors in that price range. The only disadvantage that I know of is the lack of coil selection. I loved the 4X6 DD coil and it had amazing depth for a small coil. I believe that NEL also makes some coils for it but I have never used one. I have also owned a Minelab Xterra 705 gold pack and a Xterra 50 and the 305 is a lesser Xterra model with less points of discrimination and other differences. The 705 was one of my favorite detectors that I have had but it is out of the price range of the detectors mentioned.

the f4 is simelar but not the same id say the biggest difference is the freq each uses. i think the 3300 stacks up well against the competition its actually quite a good detector

The Discovery 3300 or Legacy 3500 or what ever other name its sold by, for sake of argument lets just call it a 3300. This is a completely different platform than the Fisher F-4. It shares some similar settings, and design principles and features, but it is a completely different detector. As far as how it stacks up to the other listed detectors, I would look at it like this. You have Ford Dodge and Chevy, who makes the best truck? Same with detectors, First Texas products (Bounty Hunter, Teknetics, Fisher) Garrett, White's and Minelab. I have owned all that you have mentioned so I'll give you my opinion. The 3300 is a good detector, its slower on recovery then the Fisher F-4, but faster on recovery then the Garrett 250. The depth at least here in my area, the 3300 ties with the Mine lab 305, with the F-4 being the deeper of the three. The Garrett Ace 250 and 350 lack manual ground balance and the Coinmaster Gt has a type of auto ground balance. the Fisher F-4 and Bounty Hunter 3300 both feature manual ground balance and a pre set mode. If you are going to cover cost per value I think you get more in the way of the Fisher F-4, but you can't beat what you get cost wise in the Bounty Hunter 3300, add a NEL Hunter DD coil to it and it will blow yer mind whit it can do for about the same price as the Garrett 350. On a separate note, I no longer have my Ace 250 or the Coinmaster GT and just recently sold my 305. I am a huge fan of First Texas products simply because of the customer service I have received from them on any and all the questions I have had. I can not say the same about Garrett or White's. I have never been able to contact anyone at Mine Lab. I will also add that I'm currently trying out a Fisher F-2 and a Discovery 2200 both with NEL coils.

What or who is a nel coil?
I just bought a Land Star for the manual ground balance. I was thinking of using a Whites coil with the frequency of 6.59 with an adaptor.
This is for my older son to start with.
Picked up the MD,plus a Gold King 48 inch sluice, and a 7 inch Garrett pan for $100.

Neoteric Electronics Labs, (NEL) this company is out of Europe in Ukraine. They offer several different styles of DD coils. They are sold here in the US by Gold digger metal detectors, out of New Jersey, Great group to work with. I'm not sure how well the adapter run White's coil will work for you, I've tried it before and didn't get much depth. the actual Bounty Hunter coils are very inexpensive and found all over. Although I will say your recovery speed and target Iding will increase dramatically with any DD coil.

Thank you opie.
I will see about a DD for BH.

Postal, the Fisher 11" DD coil will fit if its the push in plug, and not the screw in. The plug types change little bit ago. That is a great coil as well.
