Hi, My name is Mike. I was innocently watching Netflix a few years back and ran into a little show about two fellas who had the passion for detecting. The show was amazing and very well written... and so it hooked me into the desire to search the earth, sand, wood chips or whatever hid things unseen from human eyes and bring them out into the light.

My wife being the supportive type and I'm sure figuring that there could be much worse hobbies for me to get into sent me on my way to find a detector. I was pretty new to the whole thing and had no idea where to look... the ones on the show sounded like gobbledy gook. My local hobby shop BC Shavers had a wall of detectors all I think by White's and it was suggested that I try an entry kinda thing like the Treasure Master.

And so there you are... I'm hooked on something that has fresh air and the dirt beneath my nails. I have a bucket full of metal shards and a small chest full of cool stuff I've found.

Welcome Aboard Mike! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Canada for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your country.

Welcome to tnet Mike. I’m from Niagara Falls.

Welcome to TNet from Virginia! The two guys on the Detectorists are classic relic hunters to me. One uses a minelab 3030 the other a deus. They are protective of their permissions and just do a lot of quirky things that hit home. I don't think any relic hunter could help but relate to them a bit.

Happy hunting!
