Direct Ship dollars, no more credit cards

this is great news for the company that's contracted to build their new storage facilities!

This will no effect on dollar coin storage. People were buying large quantites and then depositing them in their banks account to pay the credit card bill. The banks were sending them back to the Fed Reserve. It cost the mint s+h and whatever small percent the credit card company kept, while serving no purpose. The limit of $1000 every 10 days, was way too high. Who would want to spend $100 a day of $1 coins? or even bills? When I return my coins for cash, I asked for 50s or 100s.

It was a waste of us mint resources, not as big of a waste as the whole dollar program, but still a waste.

darn, i was just about to start wasting a terrible amount of time n tie up resources for the bonus points/miles/rewards/whatever. This whole dollar coin situation is one of the millions examples of a gov. who spend millions to pay people to sit on their lazy bleeps, all day long, day in day out to try to come up with the most rediculous, worthless, meaningless, retarded ideas of how to spend billions of tax payers $$$. Almost as if there is no reason not to... like they can just print more of whatever they need, wait...... :sign13:

JOKE. JUST ANOTHER JOKE.

Bring on the silver, for when we see the consequences of these untouchable fraudsters.

You know, the mint was just trying to get people to actually use these coins in circulation, but people go crazy over $1 coins and try to make them collector's items rather than pocket change.

That's the big problem, right there. I'm not a fan of manganese in coins. For the same reason the Silver War Nickels tarnished easily, these "Gold" Dollar coins tarnish easily. They aren't really great for keeping long term in MS-60+ condition unless you air-tite them. Plus, they need to be popular in circulation to be valuable collectably. Anyone here even KNOW what the market for the SBA dollars are, let alone what the market is compared to the IKEs?

Plus, I have a beef for anyone that thinks the dollar program pays people to sit on their arse. Ask any mint worker making those coins, they don't just sit around. Those are hard working people. Ever work in a tool/die shop? Those are honest blue collar people.

I say, GOOD. People that abuse the system ruin it for all the rest. Now if you want to actually order some of these to set aside or spend in retail you have to download an order form and send them a check/money transfer.

Quit printing the $1 FRN and, obviously, these ugly coins will become more popular. While they're at it, quit minting the penny and make the nickel out of steel. Pretty simple, really. But sometimes common sense makes no sense at all (atleast in DC).

people are only buying them because it is face value and free shipping. show's how hard the mint wants to get rid of the golden dollars!
