Hi guys,

People have been so good to help in my last post about finding a cast fire poker handle I thought i would ask for help in the general discussion on my find the other day whilst on the beach in Anglesey, Wales.

I have found a medium pebble with what clearly looks like a footprint to me and anyone I show it to. From a small amount of research the print can be looked at in two ways:

1. Therepod - Exclude the bottom left round circle and it is very much like a small therepod footprint. Clearly there are three claws with toes - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=t...UICigB&biw=1920&bih=979#imgrc=Vilhp76q9Ah8LM:

2. Include the bottom left circle and it makes for a more 3 toed paw style print although I do not believe the circle should be included (maybe wrong).

If anyone does have any experience in this area please let me know your thoughts.

i will be surprised if it turns out to be anything but a foot print. Cool find!

Awesome find, clearly a dinosaur print. Congrats!

Definitely looks like a dino print to me, what an awesome find!

I saw similar prints on a documentary about Dino hunting. I'm sure yours is legitimate.

Treasure Hunting 101. NEVER hand your treasure over to some unscrupulous scallywag!:BangHead::nono: Come here to T-net and have the experts help you free of charge. I am sorry to hear of your tusk going by by. I keep a close eye on my goodies.:blackbeard::skullflag:

That is one of the neatest things I have seen posted.

Unfortunately, while it may look like a footprint, given the type of rock, and the associated parameters on the formation of that rock, it is very, very unlikley it is a dinosaur footprint.

Hi SeekerGH, do you know what type of rock it is and any more information on your reasoning please?

Thanks,

Neil

Sorry to hear this, some people have no morals at all.

This is a metamorphic rock, not a sedimentary rock. The hardness and crystalization are evident in the images provided.
Sedimentary rock formation will preserve fossils, but the processes to metamorphisize, pressure, heat, and/or heat pressure will eradicate any fossil imprint remains.

Thank you for this information. Do you know what type of rock it is as I can not find it?

Thanks for your time again.

Neil
