This was my best penny box EVER. I think this might have been someones collection? Any how got to get another. filled about 5 holes in my books so not bad. I am really happy about the flying eagle penny

also did a nickel box but there was nothing major. No silver. Did get about 25 pre 1960 dates but nothing I needed for my collection.

Happy hunting.

Ill post some pics of the FE when I get a chance.

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

WHAT?! holy crap, ive never heard of a flying eagle, let alone ANY coin that old.

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

Way to go on the Flying eagle cent. Great number of wheats too. Pics would be nice!!

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

That Flying Eagle is a great score, along with the Indian... that's a DREAM box of pennies right there! Congrats! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

HH!

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

amazing dream box!!! wow!!! grats on the eagle and indian! keep it up and hh!

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

Congrats! I think that you got someone's collection. I've never even gotten an IHC CRHing, nor even during the past 40 years of always looking at my change (as a very amateur collector). A FEC - WOW! BTW, PCGS says that in G-4 (in their holder, of course) the market value is $30, and $55 in F-12. Did you check to see if it is 1858/7? That'd be worth considerably more. http://www.pcgs.com/PRICES/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?MS=1&PR=1&SP=1&c=664&title=Flying+Eagle+Cent

Also, too many early wheats to be anything but a collection (or part of it - likely there's more in other boxes that you didn't see). I've gotten a 1910 and several in the teens, a dozen or so 1920s, but never so much in one box. You definitely got a dream box.

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

"s" memorial pennies are not valueabl unless in great shape. Be sure to check the 1970-s for the high 7, it could fetch a few dollars!!

Sweet score!!
HH

Re: dimes and pennies 5/11/11

Thanks guys. I was and still pretty happy with that box. Gonna get another tomorrow. I will be picking up a box of each halves, dimes, nickels and pennies. I will have to recheck the eagle but I dong think it's a error. My pc took a crap on me this morning so I am on my iPhone now. Gonna try to post a pic once I get home to my laptop.

i updated with some pics of the eagle

That is an AWESOME find :icon_thumleft:

a flying eagle??? in a penny box? damn!
i bought the very same coin at a show for $39 last year.
excellent score!

ok. another question. should I send this one off to get graded? what do you all think it might grade? Would it be worth it?
