digging tool

Found this at an old foundation I hit today...proof that I wasn;t the first to hit this place....looks older so not sure who or when it was lost....they must have had a nice find to forget this...I found it laying right on top of the ground...either that or it fell out of someones back pocket or pack.

That looks more like a regular knife to me actually...with the blade on one side and a saw thing on the other...

Snee...I agree it looks like a knife, however it is curved like a small hand shovel is and the edges aren;t sharpened like a knife would be.

That's the tool of choice for me.. Cost me 29.00 if I remember... Have had it now for over5 years and I still haven't found anything I like beter...

I would try to put a new handle on it if I was you...How much you want for it?

got one exactly like it ....called a japanese digging tool..... it may get dull but that thing never bends or breaks...the ad say it was corrosion resistant but i left some damp mud on it and it started to rust, a little dremmmel wire brush time and it new again. just got to clean it after using now....

At least you found something you can use. Some duct tape on the handle and your good to go.

NS...thats one of the theories I thought of, and if it is the correct one I am now curious as to what kind of find prompted such a hasty exit as to leave behind a nice digging tool??
