After many attempts of getting my deus to detect better than it was for me, I began reading various discussions as well as watching various videos. So over the last several months, I began to make my own programs (again) but this time with some idea as to why to use this setting or that one. My final program that I use a lot was made from the Fast program...12khz, tracking, sen 93(adjust as needed)Disc 10, Full tones, Reactivity 2, Silencer -1, Iron 2, Audio response of 4. So now I have now been digging much deeper holes as a result. In fact, I ended up with one close to 15 inches today. It was a very hot day to be digging in the sun and I had decided to look for faint targets. So I find this barely able to hear whisper of a target that would only hit one way. After I dug the first six inches (the easiest) I checked the hoe with the coil again and now got a really sweet 93-94 signal. Now I got into the much harder ground for another five or six inches plus the dreaded big root but the pin pointer was telling me that it was down below the root. The hot sun forced me to take a recovery break before continuing. I actually switched to a screwdriver so I wouldn't scrape a big silver. After the fourth dig and pulling out of the dirt, my very hard earned target was out! Yep, a crumpled up piece of aluminum. Now that totally sucked but on the other hand, it was way deeper than this machine had dug previously. Now I don't plan to be digging holes this deep on a regular basis but, I like to have the option because I have a machine that can find deeper stuff. I have in the last two days, quit very deep holes because the ground was so hard and I was too hot. I know where they are and will go back to them when it gets cooler. I really feel that most of the people who gripe about their deus, just don't have it set up properly for their style of detecting or for what they want to find. So, thanks to all for input and videos. DL
