I was going through some of my old finds and ran across these 2 items. I've never been able to find anything about them before and thought I'd toss it out to the masses here. All of you seem to have great research minds! ;D

The first is a fancy button of some sort. It isn't deep enough to be a cuff link so I'm leaning towards a button. I found this in the 80s outside of an old house in my home town that was scheduled to be demolished. I found a lot of other great stuff there too and I vividly remember getting this thinking it might be gold, but NO markings of ANY kind are on it.

The second is a coin I found on the beach in Galveston, TX probably 10 years ago. Yes, I cleaned it not knowing any better. It's in pretty good shape and I'm thinking it hadn't been there long since it was not very dirty or corroded.

Thanks for looking and for any help you may provide...

The Honorable Service Lapel Button sometimes called the Honorable Service Lapel Pin was awarded to United States military service members who were discharged under honorable conditions during World War II.[1] The award was sometimes slangily called the Ruptured duck.[2] Sculptor Anthony de Francisci designed the award.
