Did it Again, 3 weeks in a row...ANOTHER silver half!!!

well went hunting today at another farm I got from my craigslist ad, it was super hot, super humid, but glad I went out. I scored my third silver half 3 weeks in a row! Got 6 wheats, bunch of clad and some odds and ends. I gave the owner some of the wheats. But I kept these 3, they are the 1st HOLED wheats I have ever dug. All 3 were in one hole. Why would someone go to the trouble to hole a wheat??

6-26-11 I dug a 1895-O barber half

7-03-11 I dug my 1st ever Kennedy half

7-09-11 I dug my 2nd Franklin half of the year

3 weekends, 3 silver halves, can't beat that!

They probably used wheats to see which angle they liked the best on a chain before they did it to a silver or gold coin maybe?

It looks like three very different but very exact angles were tried… from what I can see in the picture anyway.

Just my guess. I have never dug or even held a holed coin in my hand as I am still a complete novice to the world of coins and metal detecting.

either way a silver half a week is a really good savings plan. Great job!

nope, these holes are way smaller than a 22 caliber, edges are sharp, definitely drill holes
