I took another walk around the mansion today. About 3 hours worth. (I did mention I love this place before, didn't I? :icon_scratch: ;) )

Anyway, I knew that I have to listen very closely to find stuff here anymore. So, when I found this tiny button, I was feeling rather proud of myself.

I mean, look how small that thing is! There's something of a backmark left
but I can't quite read it yet. Still! Pretty sharp listening huh?! :)

Then, I found this one,

OMG! LOL

Not the most exciting time, but, still, what a wonderful place to walk. :)

The big arch thing is a solid, 1/4 pound's worth of copper core. (I bent it to fit my pouch)

I told Blingie that if he'd polish it up he'd have his very own golden arch! ;)

Thanks for peeking!

Oh I don't know. Three hours not long? I used to run marathons in just a bit more than that, and they seemed
like VERY long hours!!! ;) LOL

Thanks!

Cool bunch of finds, especially given the fact that things are getting more scarce.
Every find will give you that "proud" feeling from now on at that spot.

True nuff. But, you know, I think I'm bordering on something a bit crazier.
I think a true definition of insanity is doing the same thing, over and over, but expecting a different result. ;) LOL

Now THAT is our hobby in a nutshell!

I wouldn't give up either...I had a place like that here, that all I could do was think about that place, it produced my oldest coins ever, and some of my best coins.

Un fortaunally its gone forever now, they fenced it up and are now turning it into a parking lot...pisses me off, it was one of the oldest houses in Ft worth, now its going to be a parking lot

Nice Finds..

Here's what the house looked like when i first started hunting it.

Then one day the local college tried to buy it and tear down for the expansion of thier parking...The Owners would NOT sell, as it was a piece of early Fort Worth History.

So after the owners refuse to sell.

its "Mysteriously" caught on fire...

Now it looks like this....with an 8 foot chain link fence around it....Luckily i got a few years of good hunting out of here, i think my newest coin was a 23 Merc in pristine condition

Sorry to HiJack your Post Whadafind....My point was really to tell you to hunt that place as much as possible...You just never know when its going to be gone...or a parking lot.

I'd keep metal detecting the area! Just turn the disc down all the way and amp up frequency to high (if the soil doesn't have a lot of iron ore) and you should be able to find anything down to to 10-15 inches depending.

This place has already served for me. I did indeed get my oldest coin ever there. A 1720 British Half Penny and
this button:

Also my best.

I also know that this mansion is here to stay. The permission may wither and die some day, but I feel like it has given me a full measure of satisfaction. I have gotten much more from this site than finds though. It's given me some fine memories. Those, are mine forever, ( or until my mind goes).

Oh! And by the way! I KNOW I have NOT put my coil over every single square inch in this place even yet! :)

Appreciate every find and every place folks! The memories of those will help warm you in those cold days. :)

Thanks!

We do get a different result almost every time though. A nail, a coin, a token, a whajamacallit, a dunnowhatitis, a horseshoe, a ring,
an aintgotaclue...etc, etc, etc.
