Did I find cut silver and what is this chunk of layered lead?

Only had a hour so I went and did a scout of another oyster shell spot I saw last week. I was there a minute and got the huge dandy and the buckle three feet apart. Then I got a 85 on the Garett and thought I found what I thought was a heavy pocket watch or carry case. I then dug what I think is a cut piece of silver 8 inches down. I did get another flat button before my time was up.
I was able to get a quick tooth pick clean in tonight and what I thought was a carry case appears to be a chunk of heavy layered lead. I was wondering if anyone had a clue what this is?
Thank you ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521417738.951305.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521417776.367707.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521417798.647879.jpg

Definitely has the "look" of a VERY worn cut.

Would like some more photos if possible of close up / macro nature of BOTH sides.

Your silver looking item surely looks like a cut 8 Reale Spanish Milled dollar.

Looks to be a cut Spanish silver.

The other piece is a lead-alloy closer to pewter, not sure what it was.

the lead piece may be a bale seal. Have found them looking similar before, or possibly part of a lead filled bridal rosette.

I’m really stumped now. Cleaned what I thought was layer lead item up and that might not be it. Is something inside? It’s reading steady 87 on the Garett.
Only have tooth-picked and tooth brushed.
Should I try to chisel in half? Any ideas?ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521572234.452420.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521572262.427287.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521572283.773254.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521572304.830289.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521572325.109955.jpg

Congrats on cut silver!

The pewter disk could be the remains of the base of a sugar bowl or creamer. :dontknow:

Forgot, I assume you know the date of the buckle is 1690-1720?

Yes, and BTW you got some nice stuff there. Crusader is correct on the age of the buckle. Way to go.
