Hello all,
Went to a local playground yesterday on what I call a little clad run. I found this 1991 Roosevelt Dime under some woodchips. It looks like it was just dropped. The mint mark is a (P). I got to looking at it and saw that the realm of the coin is off center. The realm is thicker on the left side. Does that count as a misstrike or an error or both? The back of the dime is not off center at all. It looks like the run of the mill 10 cents.

If this is a misstrike or an error how much do you think its worth?

Anyone have any info on this one.

Thanks for looking

Kermit

This is a mis-strike, and I guess its an error. If they had caught this at the mint, it would have been destroyed. Interesting how its aligned perfect on the back. Check Ebay for these errors, some are worth more then you think.

Some errors are worth money. This one may be common, I have seen it myself.

With my luck it could be 8 cents because of the damage......

These are quite common, any value? I dont know but I throw my in a jar until I take the time to check it out. When they get to be 5 or 10% off center thats when they show significant added value.

0ffstruck coins are the same on the front and the back. If its only off on one side it is called a misaligned die error. I have one on a buffalo nickel where one side sticks up a quarter of and inch and its so sharp that it will draw blood. I like em but not worth much. exanimo, ss
