Hi,
I am new to Treasure Net and this is my first post. Recently, I found a rock with my metal detector and my belief is that the rock is actually a meteorite. My metal detector is pretty basic and cheap, no fancy bells or whistles. But it goes nuts when I pass it over this rock. It feels quite dense, so it makes sense that it has a lot of metallic material in it. However, it isn't really magnetic (it may be very slightly magnetic, but it is hard to tell). The outside of the rock is mostly a dark gray with spots of a black surface. That same black surface fully coats the inside of the rock (on the sides/walls of the holes). I attached pictures to hopefully give everyone a better idea what I am looking at.
I am not familiar with meteorites, but everything I look up points to it being a meteorite. Would it be worth getting it officially identified? How much do meteorites usually go for?
Thank you in advance for the help!!!
