Diamonds And Civil War Bullets

Decided to spend the day relic hunting, but stopped at an old house first that I've been meaning to hunt for months now. A lot of trash in the yard, but finally got a reading I almost passed up, but decided to dig. Found an 18 Carat gold ring with 5 small diamonds in it! Not a big ring but big enough. A few minutes later I found a 1916 Mercury dime, excellent hunt. It was very hot and humid so I headed to my original destination, that was shaded, and found four bullets and a rifle sling hook. Came home drenched in sweat, but it was a good day. By the way, my wife has already claimed the little ring. [emoji16]

Nice gold! Now...getting back to that 1916 Merc...im sure you checked but there's no reverse pic, was hoping to spy a little "D".....if there is...she can have that ring! Great finds...Ddf

Unfortunately there's no mint mark Dirtdigginfool, wish there was!

Exactly! Combined with the fact that it is a very nice coin with lots of detail left...most Mercs that old are usually pretty thin and worn...Ddf

super nice ring, my wife was drooling over it, she likes the low profile ones like that. then the 1916 merc, just like the one I found a week or so again, no D mark. pretty cool hunt with the CIV finds as well. congrats
