Diamond Divers - Who's Watching?

So I got a chance to see the first few episodes of "Diamond Divers" last night on Spike TV. Overall first impressions, it wasn't a bad show, per say. It was a lot like watching that show "Gold Rush". Which is a bit like watching a car wreck to see who gets killed or injured.

I like the general premise. Go to South Africa. Dredge for diamonds. Get rich. But from the first epsiode, it seemed like they tried to find the biggest dumbsh!ts they could to go do this job. Not only that, but they went to work for a company that seemed to flat out lie to them.

So has anybody else seen the show yet? What were your first impressions?

Allen,Never see either show and I don't care to! I do know that if ALL the diamonds ever flooded the market, they would be WORTHLESS! God Bless Chris

Of course. Diamonds are only valuable because the big companies try to control the flow of diamonds to market. Thereby controlling the value and making themselves extremely rich. Diamonds aren't actually all that rare. It's just that 90% of those found will spend the next few centuries locked in a vault somewhere.

I saw the first episode...like gold rush Alaska on water. They dont have to find anything, they get paid for doing the show. Its more about break downs and fighting than treasure hunting.
