DFX unable to ground balance sand vollyball court

it has to do with the base they use under the sand is a layer of clay they use to keep the sand from penetrating the ground and disapearing, it also prevents weed growth. something in that clay sets off the DFX.
what i did was GB off the court and then MD going onto the court to give the auto GB a chance to work.
however, if you get a tone that is more than 5 inches it'll be the clay that's making the tone.
also, anything that registers at +95, ignore it, it's going to be junk
 

Sniffer nailed it. If the DFX acts this way at other parts of the park it may be something else.

Thanks for your help guys! Hoping for rain SOON down here in N. Texas. Hasn't rained good for weeks and the ground is now too hard to dig in most places. (not to mention you can't dig a good plug as everything just crumbles!)
 

I wish the ground here crumbled. you almost need a chisel to dig into it
