Some one has a New DFX for sale it is new old stock….He says it has the newer style 950 coil with it i do not know the difference between the older or newer 950 coil…and i see some have the ..Multiple Harmonic coil what ever that is ………….And some DFX's are the ..Spectrum E series and some are the 300 …… it has the rechargeable battery with charger and the doubleAA pack …. And still has the 2 year warranty on it…… BUT with shipping it would cost me about $795.00 and i am thinking that could be to much for a detector not made now …So some info from the DFX users... ?????

All DFX units are electrically identical. The new ones came with a 12" coil...the older units came with a 9 1/2". That's the difference, other than paint. If you don't believe me, check out White's website.

What is that Multiple Harmonic coil .. And what about the price…for a older model new old stock ?

White's had the original 950 Eclipse coil and it was a flat solid coil that is not repairable if there is a problem. White's then came out with the newer style Eclipse 950 coil that is thicker and it can be repaired if it develops a problem. The DFX 300 came with a 300 mm coil that is the same as the White's Eclipse S12 (12" coil). The only difference in the 300 an the S12 is the decal. All DFX detectors are e series detectors and there isn't any difference in any of them. The "Multiple Harmonic Coil" is just a fancy name that White's labeled some of their coils. All DFX detectors use the same or can use the same coils and these are all Eclipse series coils. I think the $795 is pretty high although it is a new detector. I would pick up a clean used one off fleabay for about $600. White's detectors last for years and years. If you ever have a problem, White's has the absolute best customer service and a used White's will have a transferable warranty if it's less than two years old. Some of my White's detectors are 15 to 20 years old and still going strong.

Tom & Jim .. Some good info there Thanks i thought that the price was high also..
