DFX $450?

Hi all. I have a DFX on hold for $450. With hard case. Is this an acceptable price? Never owned a Whites, but the features on this machine seem relevant. No "white lines" on screen and machine functions.
I'm concerned about depth. Also, how well does it locate small gold jewelry?
