Deux Cent - Mobile Alabama 250th Anniversary Token

Did a quick hour in my back yard today. Got a few 50 cent and dollar hits on the detector. Dug up what I think are 2 large washer but need to clean them first. Last thing was a large coin or token.

After scrubbing away the dirt, I learned it's a token celebrating the 250 Anniversary of Mobile, Alabama. The front of the coin is Pierre D'Alberville and on the back it reads, "Good for 50 cents in Trade at any Cooperating Business or redeemable at any Mobile Bank...."

Nice find. Take it to a bank in Mobile and see if they're give you $.50 cents for it. Could be fun.

I like that token! You would think, as old as Mobile is, that we would see some great finds from down that way but I really haven't noticed any.
