Hit my fav local beach this AM and Deus pulled in another small gold band at 50 on the VDI (posted another pic in todays finds). Third this summer plus a costume ring with a big stone (wasn't expecting much from the 70's signal but the big stone and silver colored ring in my scoop sure got my attention). Pulled a brass charm bracelet and a shoe bauble too along with a bunch of clad, tent stakes galore, and some unscathed sunglasses. I am almost exclusively running gold field now at various frequencies but mainly at the default of 18 khz. I mess around with GB alternating between tracking and fixed and punch in beach mode when necessary. I now feel like I am missing something if I switch back to a discriminate mode (even at low disc). Hey, if it works, I guess I'll just stick with it. Having success at finding gold sure makes it interesting since I never really know if I have a pull tab, nickel, or gold until I empty out the scoop.
