They are all good machines. The Surf PI is a beach machine and considering that you live in Ohio, you may be best sticking with a machine best for inland hunting.

Fisher makes excellent detectors and I am personally drawn to that one as a first choice, despite me being a Garrett AT Pro user. There will be a learning curve with the Fisher 1266XB, but that is a detector that you can grow with.... With that being said, Garrett has excellent customer support and the GTP 1350 is pretty easy to use and is versatile to use. The Tesoro Vaquero has a very loyal following, and a lifetime warranty as well, and I have seen many good discoveries made with the Tesoro machines, just be warned...they are tone-only machines.

Do your research and google for reviews on each machine, choose what suits you best.

My personal choices in order would be:

1:Fisher
2:Garrett
3:Tesoro

all are nice detectors my choices would be Minelab 705 Tesoro Tiger shark and whites XLT but everyone has there own preferences, Check witht hose from ohio they will know what works best for you

Thanks guys. I have a Fisher F2 which is doing great for me at this time. Looking to upgrade to a AT Pro Gold or a Teknetics Omega 8000. Just put the post out there cause the guy lives not too far from me.
