Nice dime. Thanks for posting the turkey pix. Always fun to see what others see on their treasure hunting adventures. Around here, turkeys are as common as acorns. Last Tuesday I saw 3 separate flocks foraging under the oaks. That same day I was lucky enough to see 2 small herds of Tule Elk, a few buffalo (on a private ranch), and a coyote. This is a great time of year to see wildlife in my area. The leaves have fallen from the trees and so have the acorns, so predators and prey are active during the early mornings and evenings. It's a treat to see them.
Hey kindafoundabuck, if those turkeys scared you, you should go hiking in the spring and have a fawn jump up beside you and run away. They still startle me even though I've been walking in the woods since I was knee high to a grasshopper.
Wild turkeys and deer hang out on my property all the time. Most turkeys I have seen at once at my house is approximately 20-30. Most deer I have seen at once is about half a dozen does.
That is what happens when one lives out in the woods!
I know it's been said already but...

Hey, Kindafoundabuckle, you haven't been scared until you have a grouse flush up about three feet in front of your face. Especially if you aren't grouse hunting and don't expect it. One scared me so bad one time when I was squirrel hunting, that I thought the Devil himself had jumped up out of the ground just to get me.
By the way, KenPa, congrats on the Merc. I've only found one so far.
