I am planning a detecting vacation for the north central parts of PA.Tioga,Potter and surrounding areas. My Sister and I are loading up the detectors and the van on a treasure hunting adventure.Does anyone have any suggestions of places we could hunt?I found some old county maps of the area to help with our search. We are planning a 5 day trip so we are hoping to visit as many places as we can locate.Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks to all that reply.

Thousands of antiques to be found on a 8-10 mile stretch of bottomland below the town of Austin. On Sept 30, 1911 the Austin dam broke sending 500 million gallons of water rushing down on the town of Austin!

If you are just coin shooting, try the Potter County Fair grounds in Millport, Pa. The fair just got over, usually find a lot of coins there. If you are looking for the big treasure, try along Freeman run below Austin, Pa. that's where the broken dam waters washed the whole town downstream in 1911. also, if you are after treasure legends, try Gardeau, which is actually just outside Potter County, just below the town of Keating Summit.

Just be careful.. I hear that area is crawling with rattle snakes...let us know what you and your sister find.
