Metal detected the cellar hole I posted the Ghost pictures about today for the first time and found some goodies. No coins today but a spectacular two-piece silver butterfly buckle (looks plated in close-up but its rust/burn damage need to lemon juice it) as well as another brass two-piece buckle.... two in one day and a first for me! They will look nice in the relic case, any info on the silver one would be appreciated. The lock made me laugh, imagining someone quite frustrated with losing their key and trying a hammer and nail approach. Anyhoo merry holiday..keep on keepin' on :). Thanks for all the looksies.

That's a really nice assortment of finds! I wonder if that "nail" is the key to the lock? Keys weren't all that complex back in the day, I could see someone pounding and filing one out of a nail...

I like the flat iron. I found one once and it's just a nice find. Good diggin' all around!
thank you I like to electrolysis my iron then cook it in my toaster oven for about an hour at 250 degrees farenheit then paint bree-wax on it to seal ...makes a nice displayer.

absolutely possible! I like to invent scenarios surrounding my relic recoveries..makes it more fun imo

That looks like a great place to detect, as it is not completely overgrown. Nice finds. I would be shocked if you don’t pull a coin or two out of there. Good luck!

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

some very nice finds.

In places like that I check the hillsides to try to find the old dump.

Old cabin sites like that sometimes the trash would be thrown under the house, since they often had the house on the stone pillars or stone walls with openings by the porch. But a lot of the trash would have been tossed into a common location, on a hillside or ravine.

I am envious, you're a lucky guy, I really like searching those kinds of places.
Congratulations on your great finds.

ty dognose...been eyeballing that lil patch of woods for two years and wondering if anything was there...definitely pays to look ;)..thanks for support to you and everyone in T-net nation!

Great assortment of finds. Well done.
Now to find the privy and to get fell out of the pocket, thrown down to hide, some raw pontil glass would be sweet.
