Detecting DooDads?

Has anyone ordered from Detecting Doodads lately?

I placed an order about a week ago and paid for priority shipping.

I haven't received it yet. I have sent 2 emails to see what is going on and no replies.

I would really like to get the clip but does not look good.

I haven't ordered lately. But it is a one man show. He may be on vacation or something, but I think he would have at least responded to emails, so that is strange. I noticed that some of his products are no longer offered for sale (e.g., the stem clip mount), so was wondering if he was winding down the business as he sold whatever manufactured stock he had on hand.

Don't want to post a link to a non-TNET sponsor, but you can google it. In a nutshell, Detecting Doodads is a small web detecting accessory business run by a guy who uses a 3-D printer to manufacture some handy detecting accessories for a variety of detectors including Deus. For example he makes a variety of lanyards for securing your pinpointer and the Deus control box to the stem so if it pops off you won't lose it. He also makes a more robust coil charging clip that works for both the LF and HF Deus coils. HTH.

I have sent him emails, used his form on his website, and messaged through fackbook.


I'll wait anothe week and if I don't hear from hin I'll just get a refund via paypal or my credit card company. I did notice it's only been 5 days but when you pay more for priority mail I should at least get an anwser to my emails. No big deal. I have 2 coils and will just have to charge them separately.

BTW, I hit 56 silver coins as of yesterday for the year. This is the most I have found in 20 years of detecting. All found with my Deus. What a great machine. I don't see how they could make it any better. Just had to throw that in.

Back to DooDads. Does anyone have a phone number for him?

Couldn't find a phone number but he was very responsive when I ordered from him last year and had a problem that he resolved quickly. I have also sent him an email asking about a product that is no longer on his site, so I will let you know if I get a response.

Glad the Deus is working well for you. It is a great detector. Are you using an LF (black) coil or one of the HF (white) coils. I got an HF coil for my Deus last year and have not put the black coil on since. They are both great coils, but I think the HF coil gives a little more flexibility if you want to target high conductors like silver or mid-conductive targets like gold, nickels, and brass relics.
