Detecting coils

I use a White's MXT and would like to know what size coil would help me in the trashy areas? I use the stock 9.5 in. coil and do okay. However, I dig alot of yuck in trashy areas. I have been checking into this and understand a smaller coil would help a great deal in my dilema. Can anyone give me some insight or recommend a good coil? Thanks for any help!? ????

I use an Eclipse 4"x6" Shooter DD on my DFX in trashy areas and have been very happy with it. My .02 worth.

A lot of folks on the DFX forum swear by the Hotfoot DD coil in trashy places and i think it's 9" long by about 2" wide from Jimmy Sierra.I had a DFX and used the 3"x 6" DD and the 5.3 Eclipse and prefered the Eclipse because i felt it went deeper and still gave super trash separation . HH Bill

Whites Eclipse 5.3 is a concentric coil that will give you better depth than the 4x6 DD in "average" ground. Check the ground in propspect mode. If it reads in the upper 70's or above the DD coils are your best bet. If the ground reads in the mid 70's or below get the 5.3 concentric for better depth and target seperation.

I will check it out. I appreciate your help. I have been wanting to get a smaller coil for some time. I will have to get one and see what the ground reads here to be sure which will be better.

I bought the 5.3 when I bought my MXT. I've put the 950 back on only once. When I can swing it I'll be getting the 6x10. Most of the places I hunt are not too trashy.
